Worked to establish the Office of the Community Police Commission. This new office was created as a result of a settlement agreement between the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and the City of Seattle ensuring police services are delivered in a manner consistent with the Constitution of the United States. Worked with elected officials and community to establish a new office and select newly appointed 15 member Commission. Coordinated with the Mayor’s Office, Seattle Police Department, Department of Justice, and federal court appointed monitor on policy recommendations. Worked to develop policy, survey tools, and inclusive community outreach tools to support the Commission’s mission to monitor the implementation of police department reforms and provide ongoing community input to increase confidence in the Seattle Police Department.
