Like MOST entrepreneurs, I put “CEO” on my first business card. Also like most entrepreneurs, I once believed in The Tooth Fairy. In BOTH cases, it took YEARS to realize I WAS WRONG:Despite PUBLIC SUCCESS on the product/content/viral/brand side (“The Rejection Hotline” / HumorHotlines.com - entertaining MILLIONS of fans!), I was initially FAILING PRIVATELY on the “business” side. I had MINIMAL REVENUE and I was OVERWHELMED “wearing all the hats” as an INEXPERIENCED solo founder.Finally, I took a long look in the mirror and my reflection explained: “It’s ME. 👋 Hi. I’M the problem. It’s ME!” So I FIRED MYSELF AS CEO OF MY OWN COMPANY & brought in a partner with more experience + skills complementary to mine.
