I founded this company with a multi-million dollar research contract from the prestigious Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) to develop situation awareness technologies. Successfully delivered on all promised deliverables to the DOD. Transitioned the company to a fabless semiconductor company using my own funding. Raised two rounds of venture financing subsequently and built the company to be the market leader in the embedded USB host and OTG market. Acquired the leading software company in the market segment, SoftConnex, in 2001. Defined, and led the architecture, design and marketing of the company's IC, software and silicon IP products. These products are sold or licensed to many major first tier customers including HP, Qualcomm, Motorola, Pioneer, NEC, Sony, etc. with significant volume and revenue. ARM partnered with TransDimension to license TransDimension's IPs with the ARM processor IPs. The company's flagship embedded USB controllers and its IP cores, are used in billions of devices in set top boxes, photo printers, handheld devices, printer servers, and cell phone chips. Led the company's effort in defining and shaping the USB OTG standard. I defined and led the design of Bluetooth and handheld combo IO IPs, and co-invented technologies for wireless co-existence and high speed Bluetooth, in particular co-existence of Wifi and Bluetooth, at the early days of Bluetooth. These technologies are used in billions of devices today.TransDimension was ranked in the top 5 for 3 years in a row in the the Fast 50 Technology Companies in southern California, and the 32nd fastest growing technology companies in North America in 2005 based on products and IPs I defined and led. The company was acquired in 2005.
