Developed the protein structure prediction tool DeepTracer to generate efficient and accurate predictions from cryoEM maps. Protein structures provide essential information for drug and vaccine design. • Designed machine learning algorithms to improve the sequence assignment accuracy of DeepTracer. • Enabled parallel job execution and automatic coronavirus prediction updates by developing DeepTracer's website backend in Flask and MongoDB. • Reproduced protein structure prediction results by DeepMind's AlphaFold in CASP 13 to integrate multiple prediction tools.

Main architect for delivering one of WASAI’s earliest product that speeds up DNA sequencing, with the goal to realize Precision Medicine in the future. The product has been adopted by research institutes in 4 countries. • Analyzed software algorithms and evaluated software performance to find computation bottlenecks for custom hardware performance boost. • Designed digital circuits in Verilog on FPGA solutions for big data processing. • Designed and implemented an FPGA accelerator to speed up the DNA sequencing software BWA by 2.6x. • Verified functionalities and performance of the designed hardware modules and the integrated system.
