Throughout my years of experience in the field of community engagement and communication for development, I have had the opportunity to work in various roles and organizations, each contributing to my growth and expertise.I began my career as a Community Engagement Officer at World Vision Laos, where I had the privilege of working closely with local communities to identify their needs, implement development projects, and facilitate sustainable change. This role allowed me to immerse myself in the challenges and aspirations of the communities, while also honing my skills in effective communication and fostering meaningful partnerships.Following my time at World Vision Laos, I ventured into the realm of Communication for Development as a Specialist Consultant at World Concern Laos. In this role, I collaborated with local stakeholders to develop and implement communication strategies that aimed to raise awareness, enhance understanding, and facilitate positive behavior change. Through various initiatives, including campaigns and workshops, empowering them to take ownership of their development journey.Driven by a passion for education, I then joined Room to Read Laos as a Materials Development Technical Officer for the USAID Learn to Read project. This role enabled me to combine my communication skills with my dedication to advancing literacy among children. I was responsible for developing tailored learning materials, ensuring they were culturally relevant and aligned with the needs of the local communities we served. Witnessing the impact of these resources firsthand was gratifying, as it reinforced the importance of education in transforming lives.Currently, I hold the position of Program Officer at the QRM department, where I continue to contribute to the development field. This role allows me to leverage my experience and skills, working closely with writers and illustrators. As a Program Officer at QRM, my responsibilities extend to the development of learning materials that serve to support children’s literature, particularly in the realm of development storybooks.Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to witness the tangible effects of community engagement, communication for development, and education. Each experience has equipped me with invaluable skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to adapt to diverse contexts. I am committed to utilizing my knowledge and expertise to create sustainable solutions and uplift communities, one program at a time.
