Achievements: - Backend Performance: - Issue with configuration service: - Situation: The configuration service gathered all necessary parameters with each request, traversing other services. - Action: Proposed to redesign the service architecture so that it would gather necessary parameters only upon the first request and store them in cache for subsequent requests. - Result: - Reduced resource consumption by approximately 20 times - Reduced 90th percentile response time from 4 seconds to 230ms - Decreased infrastructure costs by approximately $10,000 per year - Web Performance: - High loading times and lack of performance monitoring practice: - Situation: The average loading time of the admin interface was 13 seconds, which could reach several minutes with an increase in the number of records. - Action: Implemented performance tests based on the sitespeed.io framework. Then implemented semi-automatic one-click launch from AWS. Further added a dashboard displaying key metrics of all launches. Collaborated with the DevOps team to implement fully automated test runs.
