Co Founder & Head Of EconomicsBeyond Zero Jun 2024 - PresentRye, England, United KingdomBeyond Zero is underwriting the transition to regenerative agriculture by making it investable.OVERVIEWBeyond Zero is a leading Environmental Asset Manager that has pioneered a number of firsts in the use of data, science and technology to identify, unlock and grow the value of land and the environment.THE PROBLEMSTraditional approaches and partnerships cannot address the complexity of the challenges we face, so we take a multi-stakeholder and systems wide approach, redesigning incentives and the monetisation of environmental assets, and taking shared responsibility (and accountability) for impact and outcomes at farm, community, regional and national scales.OUR ROLEWe play a crucial role in building resilience by developing business models that support the growth and development of environmental markets and the transition to a low carbon economy. We deliver high quality, high-integrity projects that are trusted by investors and the markets.WHAT WE DOWe provide a range of end-to-end services to maximise the value and impact of decision making across three core areas:• Nature-Positive Agriculture• Nature Recovery• Decarbonisation of the EconomyOUR APPROACHEvery engagement starts by undertaking a holistic natural capital evaluation and the creation of a measured baseline, the critical first step that enables informed decision-making and effective resource allocation, as well as the monitoring and continuous improvement of the strategies employed over the life of the project or programme.WHO WE WORK WITHWe work with a very broad and diverse group of clients, from farmers and landowners (and their supply chains), to investors, foundations and governments. We also partner with other leading change makers to reach our impact at scale.https://www.beyondzero.ag -
PartnerTriage Nov 2020 - PresentRye, England, United KingdomTriage’s technology business partners with the world’s leading geospatial platform and earth observation data providers to unlock The Value of Where®.We use spatial data and analytics to answer high value questions and solve complex, often systemic, problems. We then visualise everything so clients can see, interrogate, manage, share and report on current state and monitor progress towards the desired state. Our technology also enables clients to assess opportunities across all three capitals (natural, social and financial), factor in climate change, evaluate the effect of their decisions on growth, development and impact, and negotiate trade offs. We take a very simple approach by asking the following:• What is the question or problem we are trying to solve?• What data do we need to answer the question or solve the problem?• What analysis of the data is required in order to answer or solve the problem? and• What is the best method to deliver and share this location intelligence? This approach has been used to help fruit growers determine where to invest and expand their operations, land agents identify the best use of their clients' land, estate owners map and then evaluate the natural capital of their estate and identify opportunities for ecosystem services, lending organisations understand the risks associated with their capital portfolio, funding organisations see what is being grown where, by whom and how, insurers measure the impact of natural disasters to forestry and other crops, and investors reach data-driven decisions from climate change scenario modelling. It is also being used to help clients wanting to take a landscape approach to visualise their area of interest, create a base map and supporting baseline analysis, determine the highest and best use of their land, develop a project plan, and then navigate, monitor and manage progress from where they are to where they want to be.https://triage.ag/land/ -
