Highlighting issues with technical solutions to overcome deployment issues.Creation of etherways and cutover packs for 2G IP Abis, 3G and 4G technologies to enable activations to take place in a timely manner. Northern Ireland decom project ceasing MW links and backhaul LL to enable the partners to meet the reduced opex targets.Present designs to MBNL to allow concessions and technical approval for non-compliant transmission solutions.NTP3 design for the N3 area of UK, this involves transmission design to conform to the current design rules that have been issued. Identify new hubs and potential desktop LOS’s and microwave upgrades, ensuring that criteria set by MBNL is met.Completion of cluster designs, along with appropriate costs and confirmed LOS solutions, then present the technical solution to MBNL for approval to order.Set up “good to go” for transmission deployment of 2G IP Abis , 3G and LTE (EE and 3UK)Design JBP and buy in sites solutions for tactical and strategic deployment options.
Transmission Planning Engineer
Point of contact for network transmission within the Northern regions of the UK.Designing & writing of circuits for 2G & 3G upgrades for IUB in order to maintain sites within current KPI’s.Re-host of sites for 2G & 3G in order to balance BSC/RNC capacity within the Orange network. Manage churn involving re-route of existing sites to enable decommissioning of the churn site.Roll out of transmission solutions for new sites including microwave, BT lease lines and Ethernet hubs.Northern Ireland technical point of contact to advise on the network consolidation of transmission solutions for T Mobile, Orange and 3UK. Rapid design of transmission solutions to enable mobilisation/deployment of advanced temporary networks and mobile sites in order to meet tight deadlines In addition to business as usual, I currently manage two projects for Northern Ireland. The first involves the reintegration of 20 existing 2G T Mobile Sites into the Orange network. This includes working with multi agencies, in order to implement the fastest and most cost effective solutions. The second is a Northern Ireland consolidation project, where I am currently redesigning Ethernet clusters. I am in liaison with Ericsson whilst they are in the deployment stage of the designs, and I am tasked with providing alternative solutions to failed desktop designs and excessive costs
Transmisson Planning Engineer
Design and implementation of transmission solutions for the selected consolidated site to allow the activation of a node B. This involves designing new circuit routes, planning and design of microwave radios and ordering new lease lines to ensure capacity is correctly dimensioned for the Iub backhaul.Decommissioning of sites that have been identified as not required due to the consolidation project. Analyse TX nodes for any transmission dependencies and design new microwave solutions for any keep sites that are to remain.Project manage NTQ notice to quit sites whilst working to tight time schedules. This involves renetworking any sites that are currently routed via the NTQ site. It also entails the transmission solution of the node B site to ensure coverage is not lost.Monitor congestion of Iub utilisation and designing capacity upgrades to ensure the service is not affected due to under dimensioned sites.Design the new Ethernet transmission network by upgrading sites to Ethernet hubs, and the migration to Ethernet microwave radios. This is planned and installed to allow the cutover from ATM to IP. Select new Ethernet fibre sites whilst taking into account current design and capacity constraints at the same time as ensuring cost effective solutions are obtained within specified guidelines. Generate Technical justifications to enable concessions to be approved for larger capacity hubs or modifications to design guidelines.Implementation of the Ethernet plan involving the cutover and ordering of new Ethernet leases and dimensioning of etherflow circuits for both 3G and 2G capacity requirements. Utilise Day to Day toolset Cramer, IQ Link, Nemesis, Apollo, Map info, Circuit manager.Instruct SWC to carry out LOS surveys and analyse reports for the effective design of new microwave radio links (Hybrid Ethernet /PDH/SDH). Additionally, instruct SWC to jumper and transprove circuits, and initiate site design work for the relocation of transmission equipment
