Worked within Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) as part of the £803M Future Logistic Information Systems (FLIS) Program to identify cost savings and consolidate engineering IT applications. • Initiated scoping work to identify the requirement; then worked alongside a wide range of industry partners (including Boeing Defence and HP) to ensure an agreed baseline prior to any merging or reductions.• Led the consolidation of over 300 IT applications; with input from users, commercial teams and wider defence priorities, worked to tight timelines and within fluid project parameters to identify candidates for closure. • Project managed the closure of IT applications; working in conjunction with Boeing Defence to provide continued capability.• Military Subject Matter expert within a Project Team of mainly civilian colleagues; assisted with the production of Safety Cases and conducted strategic level risk assessments; built up corporate liability resilience and reduced risk to the user community by ensuring each Application had a full suite of risk assessments.

Worldwide

Autonomous Investigator conducted worldwide engineering failure investigations on land based vehicles and equipment as a Field Investigator with the MOD’s Serious Equipment Failure Investigation Team (SEFIT). • Conducted over 150 engineering investigations on a diverse range of platforms, including armoured and wheeled vehicles, weapons systems, medical equipment and many cross-discipline systems. • Deployed to Afghanistan in Investigator role; conducted over 80 Battle Damage Assessments of vehicles that had been subjected to Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strikes as well as more conventional incidents. • Provided a technical advice service to the wider MOD and design authorities; and gave SEFIT capability briefings to audiences of 10-150.
