I have worked in decorative reprographics for over thirty years supplying high quality design and colour separations to create cylinder engravings to the wallpaper, textile and laminate industry. There has been quite a change in the industry from when I fist began my apprenticeship in the early 1980's. The fun for me has always been to balance ever changing processes and technologies with the ever consistent goal of providing high standard reprographic artwork, first by hand, then the dark art of continuous tone and litho film manipulation and lastly with the advent of the digital age. I enjoyed nothing more than being given the opportunity to deal with great designs and handling fine artworks knowing that you were being entrusted to either enhance or simply ensure the essence of an original design was translated onto the final print. I am now thoroughly enjoying applying all these experiences when discussing production issues with clients or training some of the very talented new comers to the industry that I have had the pleasure of meeting in my new role this last year or so, long may it continue and lets see what the next challenges are!
