I am a lawyer with 13+ years Post Admission Experience (PAE) and commenced employment with Sparke Helmore Lawyers in the graduate program after completing my tertiary studies. During the graduate program, I completed rotations in the Insurance (CTP and public liability - major claims), Commercial (Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution) and Workplace (Employment & Safety) Practice Groups. Upon completing the graduate program, I joined the Workplace Practice Group as a permanent team member where I continue to specialise in all matters involving: - Employment and Industrial Relations- Work, Health and Safety (WHS), and- Coronial Inquests and Inquiries.I have recently (October 2022) relocated from Sydney, NSW to Perth, WA for a sea-change and to further build our national team offering and support to clients. I regularly assist and advise on a range of industries and sectors including government, statutory corporations and authorities, labour-hire, retail, manufacturing, wholesale, telecommunications, property development, mining and resources, transport and hospitality. I also have advocacy experience in many courts and tribunals (including NSW and WA Industrial Courts, Local Courts, District Courts, Supreme Courts, Coroner's Courts, Federal Court, Federal Circuit and Family Court, Australian Human Rights Commission and the Fair Work Commission). I provide clients with pragmatic advice, strategy development and representation on a variety of matters including: - employment terms, conditions and contracts- managing injured workers- contractor management and engagement- discrimination, bullying and harassment issues- employee misconduct and disciplinary matters- termination and redundancy- restraint of trade - unfair dismissal and adverse action claims - WHS incident response and management- WHS prosecutions- WHS policy development and training- modern slavery governance activities - compliance and due diligence issues, and- Coronial Inquests and Inquiries. I am a regular contributor to Sparke Helmore's numerous publications which detail contemporary legal issues and developments. In addition, I am an active participant in Sparke Helmore's Pro-Bono program; regularly volunteering at metropolitan community legal centres and as part of various outreach advice programs.I currently sit on the board of directors and am heavily involved with Marrickville Legal Centre. I have also recently joined the board of directors of Crosslinks; a not-for-profit Disability Support Services Organisation in metropolitan Perth.
