Responsible for the Finance Transformation strategy and Finance M&A integration processes of Element

• Responsible for all forward-looking planning and reporting processes and driving continuous improvements in financial performance of the Element Group. Regularly present to Internal and External stakeholders.• Directly supported the CFO with the initial set up of the London Group Finance team in 2012 and since then have helped drive the ongoing evolution of the Group FP&A team into a structure that now has varying levels of expertise and experience and has a culture of innovation, process efficiency, continuous improvement and team collaboration at its core.• Report to the CFO and work closely with the CEO and sector and functional EVP’s and their leadership teams. • Have led the design, creation and implementation of multiple new processes to facilitate and evolve group financial planning and reporting across the Group. • Responsible for the selection, design and implementation of the cloud based financial planningsystem, Adaptive Insights, in Q1 2016 which enabled all legacy planning processes to be retired. All Group planning processes now operate within its ecosystem and it is also utilised across all levels of the organisation by Finance, Operations and Commercial teams as the key local reporting tool for monthly Actuals reporting and analysis (c.450 users).• Key leader in the team that has completed 4 full refinancing and 3 refinancing amendment processes over 7 years. This has included liaising with all advisors, preparation of all diligence and presentation materials and co-ordination and completion of all buy side, sell side and investor Q&A. • Key transactions have included the sale of Element from 3i Group to Bridgepoint in 2016, the $1bn take-private purchase of Exova in 2017 and most recently a minority interest investment and $0.5bn refinancing transaction in 2018. We have also completed the integration of 23 bolt-on acquisitions since 2012, including the integration of all finance people, processes and systems.

After 7 years with my previous employer I felt the time was right to build on the experience and skills I had developed there in a new working environment to further my career. This decision coincided with the personal opportunity to take a career break, which I spent traveling in South America, New Zealand and South-East Asia.

• Responsible for the coordination, consolidation and production of all Group level forward reporting including weekly flash, quarterly forecasts and the annual group budget. This involved regular participation in review meetings with the CEO, CFO and divisional executive teams.• Communicated regularly with individuals across the group including regional operational, finance, tax, treasury and legal teams, through to divisional level and up to executive and Board level.• Took full ownership and accountability for the preparation of the Group monthly management accounts including the consolidation of over 200 entities reporting in multiple currencies.• Supported the delivery of other ad hoc financial reports for various internal and external stakeholders, including assistance with external strategic reviews, preparation of investor presentations and financial analysis required for potential acquisition and disposals.• Managed and led the development of one direct report and worked as part of an 8 person Group Finance team with responsibility for assisting with the development of more junior staff.• In order to support the strategic plans of the business, twice led the process to successfully restructure the divisional reporting of the Group. This included completing a push down over £18m of overhead costs out of the centre and into the businesses where they belonged to improve the accountability and control of the overall Group cost base. • Took the lead finance role working with the Group Systems manager to successfully implement a new Group financial reporting system (HFM). Key to this success was ensuring effective controls and improved reporting processes were implemented. The direct result was the Group monthly reporting cycle reducing from 15 to 10 working days.• Responsible for preparing the senior management bonus remuneration calculations and payments. Worked with HR to implement improved controls and efficiency of the process.

Responsibility for ensuring the Group adhered to financial covenant requirements on term loans of over $1bn with a multitude of financial institutions and private investors.• Reported to Group CFO on quarterly covenant certificates and future covenant projections.• Liaised regularly with Divisional FD’s to ensure monthly cashflows were effectively managed and to ensure covenant targets were met.• Coordinated review of year-end covenant certificate with external auditors.• Worked alongside the Group Treasurer to determine levels of free cash within the Group that could be utilised to fund future acquisitions.• Responsible for establishing and maintaining improved Group balance sheet reporting and forecasting processes to enable the continual evaluation of the impact of future business cashflows on covenants.• Responsible for preparing the financial projection model to facilitate a debt refinancing process and subsequent acquisition of Ruesch International in late 2007.

Travelex UK Retail operates as a provider of foreign exchange and other travel related financial services at over 35 airport, rail and high street locations with revenues in 2006 of £100m.• Produced the month end management accounts to report to internal stakeholders. I was instrumental in reducing the monthly reporting cycle from 8 to 4 working days.• Prepared accurate and timely sales KPI analysis by store on a monthly, weekly and daily basis• Responsible for preparation and audit of the annual financial statements.• Proactive ownership of the corporate rental expenditure – including liaison with the landlords to ensure that the payments made were accurate and in accordance with contractual obligations.• Managed and led the development of two part-qualified accountants and one sales ledger clerk.• Responsible for all VAT accounting

Currently the firm (now Reeves & Co) has a total fee income of £20 million, 43 partners and 330 staff. The firm is in the top 25 Accountancy practices in the UK.• Led the end to end audit process of small and medium sized clients, including financial statement preparation.• Managed teams of up to 5 people, including training and appraising junior members of the team, to ensure deadlines were met and work was performed to a high standard.• Initiated discussion on major issues with the audit partner and client on a timely basis so that these were resolved quickly and effectively and ensured that the audit ran efficiently.
