The opportunity arose through my experiences to successfully restructuring the Ingeus group to ultimately lead to the sale of the Australian operations to deliver a strategic outcome for its founder Therese Rein.ABC Learning Centres presented a challenge operating a decentralized business model with a range of cost overheads and inadequate systems that were contributing factors to its financial distress. Reporting to the CFO, Peter Trimble and working closely with the new CEO, Rowan Webb the first challenge was the identification of significant profit shortfalls and cash liquidity issues that had been withheld from the board and the market place. Significant lack of robust internal corporate governance existed. By consulting with the syndicate of debt financiers and the Federal government, the Board of Directors ultimately took the unprecedented step to place the company into voluntary administration resulting in Receivers being appointed.
