Highly capable in operating at senior levels (including with Global stakeholders at the parent level) with excellent influencing and written/verbal communication skills.Acknowledged Credit Subject Matter Expertise and detailed involvement in the following areas: • Structural change, covering both Acquisitions (included managing out a £15bn portfolio of Bank FRNs/Structured Finance assets) and Material asset migrations between legal entities (including complex multi-billion notional interbank derivative portfolios and c.£1bn of Financial Institution lending/trade finance instruments). • Regulatory Change – with a particular focus on Banking Reform, including execution and embedding of Santander’s own revised operating model in the UK. This involved splitting of assets, functions and supporting procedures across both Santander UK and the London branch of Santander SA. • Credit Risk target operating model assessment and efficiency identification. Involved right-sizing teams in both Santander UK and Santander London branch. • Risk Appetite development and acceptance/adherence. Close liaison with both First Line staff and the Risk Oversight function to ensure effective Risk appetite limits were set on £10bn Financial Institutions and £50bn+ sovereign risk portfolios. • General credit policies/procedures/methodologies. • Stress Testing, inc. development of internal models/procedures and execution of various exercises (PRA ACS/BES, ICAAP, Environmental Risk and ad hoc internal exercises) on a £10bn multi-product Financial Institutions portfolio. • Counterparty Credit Risk. Closely involved in the establishment and ongoing support of Counterparty Credit Risk function. • Credit Systems – specification and UAT phases on any revisions or new systems, including detailed input on methodology changes. • Portfolio Management and oversight/commentary on reporting. • New Product Procedures.
