Onshore technical lead for the John Lewis ESB integration operations team.Delivering operational support to the integration estate via an offshore model, predominantly using webMethods technology.

Supporting integration technologies at the John Lewis Partnership including webMethods, MQ, Apigee and Splunk.

• Designer working on an Agile project to deliver the first clothing E-commerce system to Sainsbury’s.• Working with the Solution Architect to define the E-commerce solution and integration requirements on a Hybris platform.• Developing and grooming user stories in Jira to support the 2-weekly sprint cycles for the website development.• Writing functional and technical designs for around 20 interfaces, and working with onshore and offshore developers to deliver integration components using WebMethods 8.2 and Ab-Initio.• System, volume and performance, and deployment verification test support. Investigation of defects, and daily triage meetings to support developers, testers and business users.• Development of implementation plans and deployment/regression details for changes across multiple systems. Coordination of releases to website and integration components.• Providing governance of the solution design throughout the project lifecycle. This was achieved through design authority meetings and technical issues forums.• System design of enhancements to Sainsbury’s groceries website. Working with IBM WebSphere Commerce developers to provide flexible delivery slots and to improve delivery efficiencies.• Specifying integration changes to communicate delivery details to the store, and working with the WebMethods developers on the technical solution.

• Responsible for delivering the integration requirements for new retail systems and enhancements to existing systems. • Working with the solution architects to shape the design of the integration solution, and ensuring the quality of the solution delivered by the onshore and/or offshore development teams.• Technologies used include the WebMethods SOA Suite (Integration Server, Broker, MWS, CentraSite ActiveSOA, Optimise for Infrastructure), Ab-Initio, eGate Integration Suite, WebSphere MQ and SysRepublic RTI.• Responsible for the integration components of the detailed system designs, ensuring they remain aligned to the solution architecture.• Ensuring that the integration solution followed a recognised design pattern, and made use of reusable components and Common Data Formats (CDFs).• Providing time and cost estimates to project managers for integration solutions. Managing the delivery of the solution to fulfil the project goals.• Development of reusable components in WebMethods 7.1/8.2• Java code development for the subscription/publication of JMS messages across different middleware products (eGate and WebMethods).• Project Lead responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of a B2B Gateway, providing Sainsbury’s with improved B2B capabilities. Presentations to the stakeholders, and the management of the migration of 60+ companies to the new B2B system.• Design and development of web services (SOAP/WSDL) for the real-time integration of supplier deals into the core retail systems at Sainsbury’s.

• Design and build of integration solutions within the Interface Development Centre. • This involved working on the complex integration to support the re-platforming of core systems onto Oracle Retail. Experience of the Oracle Retek systems for merchandising (RMS), forecasting (RDF) and inventory management (RSS), and the batch or real-time interfacing of these systems to existing mainframe and Unix based systems.• Actively worked on all aspects of interface development, from reviewing functional requirements, producing the technical design and then carrying out the build and test activities.• Development of interfaces in the SeeBeyond eGate Integration Suite with extensive use of Java.• Retek application interactions using Oracle SQL and stored procedures.• Design and build of RMS and RDM interfaces using the RIB (Retek Integration Bus).• Creation of batch schedules for interactions based on extract, transform and load (ETL) processes.• Execution of system, volume and performance, and operational acceptance testing of integration processes.• The role also involved the planning and execution of the Implementation into production, and the overnight support of the integration processes.• Out-of-hours support of business critical integration processes. This required quick thinking and decision making to ensure that complex batch processes met the required Service Level Agreements.• Team lead for the design and build of a B2B platform to support interactions with external trading companies using a variety of protocols (HTTPS, AS2, RosettaNet, SFTP).
