Working within Children's Help and Support, I have responsibility for both our Guidance Team who deliver bespoke IAG contracts to schools and colleges in Stockton-on-Tees, Darlington, Middlesbrough, Redcar, Hartlepool, Sunderland, Tyneside, County Durham and in North Yorkshire; and a Participation Team who deliver support to targeted and vulnerable teenagers of school age. I have specific responsibilities for support to young people (usually in Year 11), as part of this I developed a Risk Of NEET Indicator which has had a significant impact on our Targeted group, leading to better outcomes and changing the characteristics of our NEET cohort. It is one of three developments which have enabled us to cut NEET in Stockton by half since starting to use it as our Targeting model in 2013.My main influencers as a leader are Bill Walsh and Sir Ernest Shackleton, and I love the work of Michael Lewis (The Blindside and Moneyball in particular).
