This is a dynamic position, in a dynamic work environment. We serve an average of 2400 meals every day (as in, 365 days per year). As the program coordinator for the dining room at St. Anthony's I work with everyone, from program managers to men in our workforce development program to make sure operations are running smoothly, and we are operating with missional integrity. This is a fast paced environment that is incredibly rich in cultural diversity and thought. I'm one of the folks trying to keep the train going!Some of my responsibilities include the following:- Creating and assisting vision for Dining Room experience with Dining Room Manager- Representing the dining room at various community meetings ~ Active voice at SF Interfaith Council- Managing the SF Marin Food Bank's free grocery program ~ Enroll senior citizens in our free grocery program ~ Coordinate with food bank for weekly food donations ~ Coordinate volunteers at the program, ensuring a quality volunteer experience, and welcoming environment for guests - Writing the dining room newsletter/menu- Coordinating food ordering with our executive chef- Supervising volunteers when needed- Supervising workforce development trainees when needed

I'm very excited to be part St. Anthony's workforce development program in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood. The program is for alcohol and drug addicts who are ready for a change. As crew supervisor, I oversee between 15 and 20 men in St. Anthony's dining room, fulfilling crucial roles in the fast paced environment.

- Managed any issues that arose with orders, or issues with the Artisan Connect website.- Managed Fulfillment of orders (setting up automation rules on ShipStation)- Edited metadata, and titles for SEO- Wrote creative copy for the website including blog posts, and both artisan and product descriptions

I had a blast writing in a strong, beat poet, voice for this Wenatchee Valley advertising startup. The posts were short and anecdotal. Writing with great writers made me realize that writing is an art and a work, not just a gift. That heart knowledge is the most important piece I gained from my time with Field & Compass. My favorite submission was about riding my motorcycle out on the Palouse highway in Eastern Washington. How fun is that?

Working with Ross Carper, the director, was hugely beneficial. His style of leadership was very empowering. I had the opportunity to bring different ideas to the table and see them implemented. I also learned about the incredible amount of physiological development that occurs at the middle school age (and it is more then just puberty, I swear).

The Lab was a place where anything could happen. Co-founders Robert Sevilla, and Bart Templeman designed crazy interiors, tables, light fixtures, railings, or whatever the customer wanted. I wanted to learn how to build a table, so I emailed them when I saw their advertisement. Walking into the shop for the first time, green as could be, they taught me how to work with wood and steel. I wrote anything from, pitches for bids they would make on projects, to copy for printed fliers.

The summers before and after my senior year at Whitworth University, I salmon seined in Alaska. Long hours, mountains, and Prince William Sound. Living on a 39-foot boat with 3 other men for 3 months has the potential to be disastrous. But, I was on a great crew, in the most beautiful place on earth, and I loved it. My second year I received a bonus for work ethic and positive attitude.
