Ian Compton has over 20 years’ experience in commercial property legal services and related areas.  He endeavours to provide consistent, pragmatic and practical commercial legal advice to all clients.Ian was admitted into practice in 1996 followed by extensive experience in a wide range of commercial property areas with a number of national firms in senior positions.After graduating from Murdoch University, Ian has worked as a solicitor in Perth, Western Australia with national law firms, Phillips Fox (now known as DLA Piper), Deacons (now known as Norton Rose), Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now known as King & Wood Mallesons), Clayton Utz and at Gadens Lawyers as Partner in charge of the Perth commercial property practice. Ian joined Warren Syminton Ralph in 2012 as a Partner of that specialist commercial property firm. In late 2016 Ian returned to practising in Perth by joining Roe Legal Services as a Consultant.Ian has significant experience in the area of commercial property including sales acquisitions and due diligence; property and land development; commercial and retail leasing (including high volume leasing transactions for shopping centres); telecommunications leasing; and has particular experience in complex, specialist one-off commercial leasing transactions. Ian has acted for numerous ASX listed property companies in a diverse range of transactions as well as government, mortgagees, developers, landlord and tenants.
