Starting Chance is proving to be a great place to use the skills learnt in De Beers and Knoco as we work to up-scale the programme and increase its impact.2018 has proved to be a good time to step back and reflect as we consolidate learning we have gained in the past 10 years and build new content for our training and development programmes. Up-scaling is proving to be about much more than just extending reach. We are also being asked to go deeper in to professional development by principals and teachers in the programme which is further raising the quality of the offering and building more process and structure in to the organisation as we get ready for more growth.Working in Mfuleni provides many new insights and a vast amount of new experience that I wish I had had earlier during my corporate career - especially with respect to diversity. Working on the ground opens up the mind to possibilities that exist in South Africa, where diversity never ceases to surprise and amaze us when we give it a chance!
