My involvement with elite sport began in 2006 with ocean rowing and I have achieved 6 world records during my two rows of the Atlantic and one of the Indian Ocean.I am the Head Safety Officer for the World’s Toughest Row rowing races across the Atlantic and Pacific organised by Atlantic Campaigns. The races have been running since 2013 and I have been the lead in developing and overseeing the training and safety for the event and in doing so trained and provided safety cover for more ocean rowers than any other provider and the work within the race has transformed the sport.I am passionate about the life changing and life affirming impact of real adventure and the way this transforms, not just the adventurer, but informs and inspires the wider community.In addition to ocean rowing I have planned, participated in and led expeditions in a range of environments including trekking through Namibia, running in the Gobi Desert and across Iceland as well as leading expeditions in Greenland including the fastest British ski crossing.Looking forward I aim to continue to develop the sport of ocean rowing and other expeditions and in doing so learn lessons to apply to a wider field.
