I spent a decade working as a vehicle technician for Renault and Land Rover, before heading back into education. I completed my BSc in Motorsport Technology at Oxford Brookes, achieving the 'most creative project' award in the MEMS faculty. In this time I also completed work experience at Base Performance Simulators. After my undergraduate, I completed my MSc in Motorsport Engineering. My dissertation initiated the design of the Oxford Brookes Racing team's Autonomous Formula Student, by researching practical solutions for sensors type, locations and ergonomics, as well as an initial interpretation of the rules. When completed, I worked as a technical author for Jaguar Land Rover, designing and validating technical repair manuals and guides. Many repair manuals needed to be validated against CAD models and on prototype vehicles. The opportunity came to train to become a science teacher so I completed my PGCE in secondary science with physics specialism. I was chosen to share my evidence informed teaching into four strategies for improving recall of the 23 physics formulae, to a panel of Bedfordshire University staff and students. After 4 years in teaching, I am now the team leader for physics at an excellent school in Central Bedfordshire, sharing my passion for all things engineering, science and physics. I am keen to digitise aspects of the physics curriculum to improve digital literacy, increase accessibility and future proof skills for young learners.
