I've worked in a number of different roles in software engineering, but the one focus has always been continual improvement of the position and team. I currently work at The New York Times in Security Architecture helping onboard teams, bootstrap processes, promote automation, and create best practices around secure cloud architecture in AWS and GCP.If there's not already a good tool for the job then we should write it, everything needs to be repeatable, and if it's not in source control then it might as well not exist.
