Together with education, training and engagement with an emphasis in online delivery.Ian Dockreay is an accomplished marketing, media, training and engagement specialist with over 25 years of management experience in such companies as; American Express, British Airways, Emirates, OAG, Taylor Nelson (TNS) and Virgin Atlantic. After working with these major companies he created his own businesses in media having founded the highly successful Business Travel and Travel Technology Shows. One such business, Business Travel Media Holdings Limited, owner of a number of specialist titles including BBT magazine now relaunched as BTN Europe, reaches over 50,000 readers and the Business Travel Awards is attended by over 1300 senior industry figures. He continues as Chairman of International Corporate Media and Managing Director at Equator Learning & Engagement and Travel Uni. His career began in 1976 as a management trainee with a 3 year Business Studies Scholarship from British Airways. He then spent a further 9 years with the airline in commercial management roles in Europe, the UAE and Bahrain. Returning to the UK, he joined American Express initiating the development of its corporate travel business, leveraging the company's card presence in key corporations. This was followed by two years heading up sales and marketing activity in the UK for Emirates Airline. Having contributed to Emirates’ huge market share increase on the London-Dubai route, he was asked to join Virgin Atlantic Airways as General Manager Marketing in the early 90s. His brief was to reposition the company as a business oriented airline by developing and promoting the embryonic Upper Class and Premium Economy brands, together with route development and the airline’s move to Heathrow. Following this, Ian took up the position of Managing Director with OAG Worldwide, running all international operations. Ian was instrumental in negotiations with the eventual buyer of OAG, Reed Elsevier selling at over USD 400m.
