The Market Manager works to achieve the mission and strategic goals of the Credit Union in their respective geographic area. They conduct regional research, analyze data, and engage heavily within the community in order to support the strategy and goals in their market. My role involves cultivating and maintaining local partnerships, engaging regional leadership in strategy development, and representing the organization at community events.

In this role, I aim to help the Credit Union continue to adapt to the ever-changing world, while also broadening my understanding of equity. My role is to research areas of growth, advocate for change, and collaborate to ensure success.

The Campus 2 Career program is designed to promote career exploration and professional development in order to empower students as they transition into the workforce. As a Campus 2 Career Manager, my goal is to provide training, education, and mentorship to ensure student success and to help them discover their potential. By collaborating with educational institutions across Southeast Michigan, we build a diverse talent pipeline for full-time positions and the workforce of the future. Additionally, the C2C internship teaches problem-solving, Superior Member Service, and how to strengthen relationships with members while exploring new career paths.

Operating out of the Community Development department, my responsibility as a Financial Educator is to network in Oakland County and surrounding communities and to provide financial education workshops and seminars on topics such as budgeting, credit, identity theft, investing basics, banking basics, and more. Additionally, I currently oversee the Financial Education Intern program in Oakland County. I wrote the job description, interviewed, and hired our first intern in this area in 2017.

In helping to spread awareness about Credit Union initiatives, I'm able to further impact the communities I serve. By sharing my experiences, I strive to inspire others and highlight the importance of community reinvestment.

I'm thrilled to bring my financial institution expertise to the board of Neighborhood House in an advisory capacity. I've been involved with and passionate about the work Neighborhood House does since 2018 when I began presenting financial education workshops for their Financial Focus program. I'm pleased to serve in this new role to help drive success for the organization as they provide rental and utility assistance, food, clothing, transportation, counseling, and financial advising to neighbors experiencing temporary hardship.

I engaged members to find the best financial products and solutions to meet their needs and to help them achieve their goals. I also trained staff at multiple branch locations, including transitioning employees to our system during a merger with another credit union.

I was responsible for filling prescriptions, billing insurance, providing customer service, and organizing supplies. I processed prescription pickup transactions and collected medications for the pharmacists.

I supervised, hired, and trained student employees for the service centers within the residence halls of the River Trail Neighborhood on campus. I supervised a staff of approximately 85 and organized and conducted meetings and trainings annually.

I collaborated with graduate and doctoral students to improve the efficiency of experiments. Our research focused on binge-eating and sex behavior in rats and hamsters. I maintained an organized and highly detailed experimental notebook and managed time efficiently to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

I developed strategies for creating inclusive, diverse communities within the residence halls at MSU. This was done through the development of programming objectives and the design of materials to market programs and present important information to students living on campus. This position operated in Owen Graduate Hall.

This position was housed in Holmes Hall at MSU. I developed programs and created marketing materials to share information about programs and campus resources with students. My goal was to create inclusive, diverse, and interactive communities for my residents.

I diversified my skill sets though training in multiple service departments. I was hired as a Courtesy Clerk and progressed to be trained in the grocery, dairy, general merchandise, produce, and nutrition departments. I built a foundation for customer service skills over the 6.5 years I worked here.

I cleaned and sanitized classrooms and equipment, painted walls, stripped and waxed floors, and steamed the carpets at West Middle School.
