• Search remote transmission of marks, which are received direct from the Crime Scene Investigation Unit• Perform checking procedures to ensure validity of identification• Produce arbitration reports on contentious, disputed identifications• Attend major/serious incidents as required in order to assist and advise in fingerprint matters• Attend forensic laboratory services to examine items that have been subjected to chemical enhancements• Attend the mortuary to retrieve fingerprints from cadavers in varying stages of decomposition• Documenting and updating relevant database systems including AFIS, Case Management System and procedural documentation• Stakeholder communications – able to communicate at all levels, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of ongoing and current developments/investigations, including liaising with investigating officers, Witness Care Unit, CPS, colleagues, solicitors and independent fingerprint experts• Able to provide complex and detailed evidence reports• Prepare fingerprint evidence for submission to the Crime Prosecution Service and attend court to present fingerprint evidence• Supervise members of the team in the absence of a line manager• Mentor, coach and assist in training junior colleagues in relevant practices and procedures, supporting their CPD requirements• Providing support to internal and external agencies in relation to identification matters.
