    Hired in March of 2013, I am the first and remain the only Software Engineer employed by Tableau with the responsibility of designing, architecting and developing a new, company-owned Web Map Service for the complete range of Tableau products. As the principle software engineer assigned to the project, I have been the sole contributor of all source code for the project. Since the release of the product in June 2014, I continue to support the existing map tile service as well as function as an active contributor on a number of other geospatial projects within Tableau.• Sole developer and architect for Tableau's recently released map service. Developed all source code, unit tests, and functional tests related to the service. Deployed a Continuous Integration environment to streamline deployment and report source code metrics such as code coverage.• Worked closely with the Tableau GIS Engineers in establishing spatial data requirements including formats, schema and spatial accuracy.• With the assistance of an internal Network Operations group, I actively support both a Windows development environment as well as a production Linux cluster in AWS. • Developed the SOA plan for Tableau's AWS production cluster, including EC2 performance and cost estimation, failover strategy and auto-scale parameters. Designed a system that allows for the failure of up to 3 AWS Regions without any service interruption.
