Provide leadership for ongoing software upgrades/releases to the NeoGenomics Laboratory Information System (LIS) and related line-of-business applications. Focus on (1) architectural best practices to efficiently address business-driven system changes, continually improving the software foundation, and (2) maintaining a rigorous SDLC and release cadence that maximizes productivity for users and clients, while minimizing organizational disruption.Leverage knowledge of informatics pertaining to complex and esoteric testing methodologies, including Flourescence in-situ Hybridization (FISH), Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, Anatomic Pathology and Histology, Molecular Genetics (incl. Next-Gen Sequencing), and related instruments, imaging platforms and various integration and automation strategies.Ultimately responsible for the integrity of mission-critical enterprise software. Work closely with developers, analysts and customers to steer towards a unified architectural vision. Additional responsibilities include managing an offshore team of 7 developers, providing tier-3 production support, and reporting on iteration/release status and related issues to senior management.

Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and apply product-management skillset to a team of 8 onshore and offshore developers, managing ongoing development and enhancements of an enterprise-class Laboratory Information System (LIS) for this successful and growing high-complexity oncology and pathology laboratory. Principal resource in architecture, development, planning and agile iteration management. Also responsible for tier 3 production application support and allocation of resources, as well as configuration and release management (acting SCM) of production upgrades to the LIS and supporting software applications and tools.

Managed development of the core framework for a ground-up rewrite of the web-based ApAnywhere Laboratory Information System (LIS), culminating in the release of SOA-centric APvX. This included conversion to C# and .Net 4.0, and rewriting of all methodology-specific clinical application modules. Managed a team of 8 in this effort. APvX drives laboratory workflow and reporting for several high-complexity clinical laboratories.

Administered and supported Genoptix's LIS (Laboratory Information System), working closely with the vendor to perform upgrades and other data-related changes. Ongoing work consisted of identifying and resolving issues with clinical data in real time, ensuring patient information integrity, appropriate user partitioning and security, etc.. Developed several interfaces to laboratory instruments and the company's billing system.

Developed a GPS tracking and text-status automation system for newspaper delivery drivers, using Motorola radio handsets, a gateway service, and a SOAP interface, which fed data into a Windows Forms visual tracking GUI. Also performed support for legacy systems and esoteric work such as testing wireless network infrastructure, etc.
