February 2015 to February 2020 (lead program part time from August 2011)Queensland Police Service, Detective Senior Sergeant, State Coordinator, Project Booyah (12 months experience relieving as Inspector)Key Duties and Achievements:• In 2011, I created an early intervention police mentor program ‘Project Booyah’ targeting criminogenic behaviours and attitudes of young people whilst Officer in Charge of Coomera Child Protection Investigation Unit. In 2016, prepare a detailed government submission to Queensland Treasury that culminated in permanent funding of $13.9 million to support the operational needs of Project Booyah across Queensland. Responsible for management of annual budget of $3.5 million, leadership and supervision of over 60 staff from two organisations in delivering program state-wide and lead rollout across multiple jurisdictions across Australia. • Griffith Criminology Institute (GCI) independently evaluated Project Booyah to determine statistically significant positive improvements in self-esteem, self-control, aggression, health behaviours, substance use, and general attitudes to life post-program of participants. In recognition of the program framework, GCI reported a saving of $155,387,241.60 to government for the youth who participated in the evaluation, confirming a significant return on investment.• Awards include: Queensland Training Awards – State Winner – Premiers Industry Collaboration Award, Queensland Police Service Awards for Excellence – Gold Award for Sustainability and overall winner of Commissioner’s Outstanding Award, Australian Crime & Violence Prevention Award – Gold, Winner of 2021 Premier’s Awards for Excellence (healthy and safe communities), and Queensland Police Exemplary Conduct Award for exemplary conduct in enhancing the professional image of the QPS.
