Performed nation-wide audit of the bank’s outside foreclosure counsel. Examined the litigation files of firms in the 50 states to ensure that foreclosure and bankruptcy actions were brought with proper standing and in compliance with state law. Took the lead in auditing the Louisiana files as the only attorney on my team licensed to practice in the state. Based on the audit, findings letters were sent to each firm evaluating whether they are performing to Chase’s heightened standards.

Partner with New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the LGBT Law Association Foundation of Greater New York (LeGal) in assisting LGBT community members of modest means with the preparation of life planning documents. Meet and interview clients. Draft and execute wills. Complete advance directives, including health care proxies, living wills, and powers of attorney.

Worked with top firms and companies such as Freshfields, Weil Gotshal, Proskauer Rose, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, WilmerHale, Skadden Arps, Dechert LLP. Conducted electronic discovery in large-scale litigation and regulatory investigations on wide array of issues, including the world financial market, mortgage-backed securities, pharmaceutical products, contract disputes, and mergers and acquisitions. Wrote and orally presented memoranda on potential witnesses in preparation for depositions. Met with senior attorneys to discuss how to adapt the discovery process to changing litigation strategies and case theories. Worked closely with associates in making decisions as to what constitutes attorney-client privilege in the context of a specific case; created privilege log to be submitted in court.

Partnered with Immigration Equality, a non-profit organization dedicated to the equal treatment of LGBT and HIV+ immigrants. Prepared and filed asylum application and supporting materials for a refugee client. Interviewed client and drafted affidavit. Compiled country conditions reports and other corroborating evidence. Successfully represented client at asylum office interview.

Mentored LGBT-identified youth in a group foster home in New York City. The goal of the program is to enable older adolescents in foster care to function successfully in our urban community. During one-on-one and group visits, acted as positive role model, teaching about money management, consumer awareness, human sexuality, educational planning, job seeking, interpersonal communication, anger and conflict management, and legal issues.

Directed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that distributes fellowships to students dedicated to the public interest. Developed and managed large-scale fundraising events. Supervised committees that ran programs directly affecting the local community, including food drives, blood drives, and symposia on current legal issues concerning under-represented populations. Designed and supervised the process of selecting 20 students to receive $100,000 in grant money.
