Ian Giles is a genderqueer trans-masculine person. Ian is the Founder and Executive Director of Genderbands. They champion the transgender community, while also navigating their own life as an out parent, geek, speaker, writer, and entrepreneur.Ian often gives educational workshops and speaks about a range of transgender topics including trans health, transitioning as a parent of a cis child, safe binding and prosthetic care, top surgery and recovery, and HRT. Ian is best known for their presentation about packing for trans-masculine people.​They have spoken at a variety of organizations, conferences, and panels including but not limited to Planned Parenthood, Goldman Sachs, Encircle, Utah Valley University, and the GenderEvolution conference.In their off time, Ian spends time with their daughter and enjoys crafting, puzzles, photography, and anything geeky. They are also working on a novel and children’s book.
