Major Achievements Identified working practices that reduced the total supply chain cost by over £1m p.a.  Over three years responsible for the identification and implementation of logistics strategy that delivered competitive advantage, increased levels of operational efficiency and significantly reduced cost: - This resulted in a reduction in the logistics cost from the DC operation from £3.75m to £3.00m while allowing an increase in the throughput by over 50%.  Responsible for the identification and successfully project management of three major logistics capital projects, of over £800k, within budget which have support the company’s business growth of 25-30% pa.  Identified significant savings within the packaging budget which resulted in savings of over £900k per year.  Designed developed & implemented automotive equipment for both the checking and sortation operation that resulted in an improvement of 35% in the maximum throughput.

150,000-sq. ft Distribution Centre - Responsible for the total control of the European Warehousing & distribution resources to meet current activity levels within budgetary constraints.Major Achievements* Responsible for handling, storage and Distribution of £45 million of stock within the UK and Europe.* Identified significant savings from the closure of a European Distribution Centre in Germany. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Shift Operations Manager controlled a team of 45 Supervisors and 350 staff.Major Achievements * Security Department - whilst responsible for the security budget (£78,000), employment and restoring of both internal (M&S) and contract Security Guards, * Transport & Vehicle Schedules - liaison between external contracted transport fleet and Marks & Spencer to produce vehicle schedules.* Waste Disposal - changed methods of disposal of waste that resulted in £100 k saving on budget
