About Ian Griffith

Currently I am working on the Old War Office Project, 57 Whitehall, London. Working on the public areas for a new Raffles Hotel. My last project was the Refurbishment of the Russell Hotel which was nominated in 5 classes for awards at the 2018 Ahead Awards. Russell Hotel (Kimpston Fitzroy) has now won a NLA Award. Prior to this I have been working on the Rosewood Hotel London, implementing the design for suites and bedrooms including the Manor House Suite and Garden Suite. This hotel is currently shortlisted for three catagories at the European Hotel Design Awards, and also at the Hospitallity Awards in Venice.I like the practical side of construction, creating drawings and then working with contractors to implement the design and acheive a high standard of quality. Although I would not say I am a particular expert in any of the practical fields of construction, I have done most things in construction and engineering at some time in my life so can relate to the tradesman who is being asked to construct something.For instance I built an adience bar in my garage and shipped onto site in sections and assembled it during a 2 month summer shutdown for Rugby Theatre.
