Prior to consulting Ian had a successful 15-year career in corporate financial management, latterly as group financial controller of a highly acquisitive engineering plc during profitable growth from £40m to £120m within 3½ years. Subsequently he was the group’s acquisition manager before becoming managing director of an autonomous safety and survival equipment subsidiary. This spell was preceded by 2 years as financial planning and analysis manager then European financial controller (EMEA – operating in 12 countries) of a US-owned multinational turning around its EMEA operations and transitioning to a product group/regional matrix organisation structure worldwide. Ian's earlier management experience was gained in various cost engineering and accounting roles with the Turriff Corporation and the Costain Group.
