Bio: Ian Harris is Vice President of Strategic Sales for Cosco Shipping Line (North America), a global top 3 ocean transportation provider. He is responsible for leading the strategic account program focused on high revenue and volume clients. Engaging an extensive network of global supply chain stakeholders, he is tasked with the acquisition of key US based global accounts to enhance CSLNA's market share position. Over his 18 years with the Cosco organization, he has held several senior positions including Director of Sales – Midwest, AVP – Midwest and East Coast Sales, AVP- US Imports and most recently Vice President - Sales where he successfully led a team of 80 with budget accountability in excess of 1M Teus volume and $1.3B in revenue. His teams have been recognized for production excellence, and in addition to advancement, was the recipient of Cosco’s Navigator Award in recognition of “Dedication, Leadership, Teamwork, and Outstanding Performance."Over a dynamic career he has held various sales and trade management roles of increasing responsibility starting with OOCL. An overseas posting followed with P&O Containers in the United Kingdom, where his 5 year tenure culminated with promotion to the role of General Sales Manager of the North Atlantic Trade. After returning to the US, he joined APL as Europe Trade Manager, leading the successful roll-out of APL’s Transatlantic services in the Midwest region after the APL/NOL merger. He remained with APL for 8 years until being recruited by Cosco in 2005 to take over their Midwest Sales team, increasing his focus on China and the Transpacific trade. Mr. Harris holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Colorado in Transportation and International Business, and a MBA from DePaul University.
