About Ian Hembrow

I'm a professional communicator, scholar and strategic thinker. After 15 years' work with social housing providers, I turned freelance in 2000 and set up my own copywriting, editing and consultancy business.Since 2011 I've worked part-time with Creative Bridge - a communications, marketing, design, digital and engagement agency specialising in the non-profit sector. From 2021 to 2023 I was a Visiting Scholar at the Oxford Centre for Life Writing at Wolfson College, University of Oxford.My work is about helping people to find their voice, tell their stories and make positive change. I'm qualified in features journalism through the London School of Journalism. I'm also an experienced non-religious funerals celebrant, accredited by Humanists UK.Specialities: Life-writing, community empowerment, housing, health and sustainability.
