My working career has enabled me to gain the various and necessary skills to be an effective manager / portfolio manager as an accomplished deal originator & risk manager in the commodities and structured finance arena, with a focus on cross-border trade and investment. Appraisal and evaluation of investment opportunities, structuring of appropriate investment approaches and on-going portfolio assessment and valuation is one of my strengths. Hands-on operational management and guidance of operations staff has been gained in numerous operating environments. I have a strong network of commodity producers (agri, metals, and energy), mining companies, traders, bankers, non-bank lenders, insurance brokers and underwriters, lawyers and consultants operating across commodity sectors in Latin America, Sub-Sahara Africa and CEE. My experience and continued involvement in structuring, placing and funding transactions in these arenas means I am constantly updated on commodity prices, trends and initiatives. I am a frequent speaker at trade finance, risk, insurance, commodities, ESG & sustainability and investor focussed conferences hosted by GTR Exporta, TXF, IPE and FC Business Intelligence.
