I’ve had over 30 years’ experience as a prominent financial advisor and regulator. During this career, I was influential in the development of financial advisory education and chaired the Education Committee of the Financial Planning Association and was a member of its disciplinary body . I also represented Australia at the International Standards Organisation in London and New York in the creation of ISO 22222 and represented Australia for four years on the board of the peak international financial planning standard-setting body, the FPSB headquartered in the USA.In 2001, I facilitated investment into a new enterprise, Mainstream Aquaculture, to produce premium Barramundi in a recirculating system using pristine geothermal water. I later became a director of Mainstream which today is the largest supplier of barramundi fingerlings in the world exporting to 17 countries.In 2010, My colleague Harvey Cook introduced me to Prof Brent McInness and I heard about how the New Ireland Basin off PNG contained a massive new oil and gas system, with evidence suggesting reserves in the many billions of barrels. I invested in this company and have been on the board of directors since that time.In 2015, I concluded successful negotiations with Monash University for the exclusive rights to the commercialisation of cutting-edge technology using infrared spectroscopy to diagnose human diseases. The company I established, Biotech Resources has collaborated with a number of major hospitals in groundbreaking work to diagnose pathogens in blood. In 2018 I invested in Ward Health Group and now chair the board of that company. That business is now the largest provider Medication Management services to the aged care sector in Australia.
