Talented and experienced designer and team leader in sectors including: education, commercial, residential, retail and master planning.Started at AJ+C in 2015 as Lead Designer for the now approved stage 1 DA for $1b+ of upgrades to The Macquarie Centre. Design team leader for the 2016 Sydney Fish Markets masterplan and reference scheme that won the 2017 World Architecture Festival (WAF) Future Project of the Year award.Lead several, winning architectural design competitions including: the 2047 Loreto Normanhurst Masterplan and 2040 Abbotsleigh Masterplan. These have in turn lead to major building project engagements, including; the Loreto Normanhurst Boarding Facility and Early Learning Centre and Meriden Centre for Music and Drama. Prior to working with AJ+C Ian worked with FJMT, WMK and Bates Smart as a designer and team leader working on awarding winning buildings including: The Charles Perkins Centre for Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease that was awarded the 2015 NSW AIA award for Education; Blackmores Campus, Warriewood, that received the 2010 National RAIA award for Sustainable Architecture and The Pier, Cairns that was awarded the 2008 RAIA, Queensland Chapter commendation for Commercial refurbishment.Ian has a very broad and deep understanding of architecture and the processes involved in delivering excellent buildings and built environments. I am particularly interest in environmentally sustainable design, urban design and the interface between landscape, the public domain and architecture. I also pride myself on cultivating strong client relationships, developing clear, robust briefs and resolving complex issues.
