Provided a management presence on behalf of EWS (now DBS) with the customer, Network Rail National Delivery Service (now National Supply Chain), in its York based Operations Centre. Worked in a team of five providing a 24-7 service working in 12-hour shifts providing on the spot direction and decision making when situations demanded it - replacing and enhancing the previous commercial on-call system. Provided additional support to the Infrastructure Control posts based at Doncaster.Led the creation of the team's weekly processes - trouble shooting mostly, looking for problems and then finding the right people to help tackle them earlier. Also led the 'infrastructure' education of colleagues joining the team from other areas of rail freight.
