I started as a supported worker and over the years gained a variety of skills through training for example my NVQ 3 in health and social care. I went to an actions senior role where I expanded on my management skills which gave me the experience needed to get a full time senior position.After working in a variety of supports, managing a number of different staff teams, Thera had a management restructure where all members of management had to re-apply for their jobs. This process gave me a promotion and I became a team co-ordinator. This post involved managing two single supports and a blocked support, this is the post that I gained the most skills over such a short span of time as it was a case of hit the road running. After gaining all the experience and skills needed for the job I felt a change was due as I had been with Thera for a number of years.I then moved to the county council as a senior support worker, being apart of a team providing supported living, residential, care I'm the community and respite/emergency respite support.
