Ian has over 30 years’ experience in real estate, focusing on investment in Europe since 2000, and European retail since 2011 at Savills IM. Savills IM has over EUR 5bn of retail AuM, which has grown by an average of 12pc pa over the last decade. He is the Fund Director for Savills IM’s four pan-European retail-focused funds, involving the direction and strategy of those vehicles. He also played a key part in the creation of these vehicles, and Euro IV (Nordic retail), with a particular focus on sourcing “off market” assets and portfolios. Most recently the focus has been on the creation and growth of Savills IM's latest retail vehicle, the European Food Retail Fund, which has raised approaching EUR400m of capital since launch in late 2020 to invest in grocery assets across Western Europe. He retains a very hands-on role with the assets with a view to optimizing performance.Ian is also a member of the Investment Committee of Savills IM, providing oversight of acquisition and disposal activity in all sectors.
