I am presently a Honorary Secretary of the Historic Houses Association, Wessex Region; a trustee of Circles South-West; a trustee of Somerset Co-operative Community Land Trust; a director of Shepton Mallet Arts & Culture CIC; and a director of Bowlish Arts & Events Limited. I have also recently delivered a new suite of heritage trails for the town of Shepton Mallet and a local history of its western cloth-making suburbs. I am also currently co-writing a book on the historically influential Somerset Strode family with my American research partner.I had a progressive career in public services and supporting people to improve their lives spanning more than 30 years and covering heritage, publishing, the commercial delivery of public services, strategic policy development, local government, teaching and trades union sectors. Over the last decade, I have been a trustee of the Fan Museum, Greenwich, London; a member of Mendip District Council Conservation Advisory Panel; Chair of the Heritage Crafts Association; Chair of an innovative educational publisher; Managing Partner of public service consultancy, Gradus Consulting; a founding member and director at the Institute of Social Commissioning; a member of the Governance Committee at Curo Housing Association; and Chair of Signpost Housing Association.Specialties: Chairing and membership of Boards in the private, public and civil society sectors, organisational leader, strategic advisor, policy shaper, external affairs practitioner and communicator at the highest level.Enhanced by a deep understanding of politics and the commerciality of service markets, I have increasingly become a ‘rain-maker’ in what I do and now particularly focus on the delivery of outcomes and the nudging of behaviours in multi-stakeholder environments.
