I started to work in 2009 for Furnells on a consultancy basis, supporting their finance, management and quality departments. Coming on board as an employee in 2010 as Head of Finance, I became Finance Director in March 2012, though my role is far broader than this suggests, managing the Accounts, IT, Personnel, Health and Safety (ISO 45001), Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001) and special projects that arise.

I worked for 16 years with Charlie Day at The UK Office Ltd, supporting him with order administration through to general management and accounts. In the last few years I worked with him as a consultant whilst working at Furnell Transport. This is coming to an end in May after many years of service, a tough decision but with an increasing work load at Furnells (and increasing weight of health and safety / employment law requirements in particular), it has become inevitable. Charlie and The UK Office gave me my start in business and I will always appreciate the great faith and worth he put in my abilities and efforts, which has stood me in good stead.
