Renaissance means “reawakening” or “rebirth." It is not a single moment, or even an era, but a state of continual renewal and discovery. It is not confined by a medium, be it code in a computer or paint on a canvas. It takes the strengths of tradition and infuses it with the potentials of innovation. It is fueled by the will. It is expressed in creativity.Since my earliest recollections I have been inspired by this Renaissance path. For me, it has wound through the world of architecture (Kansas State University, Bachelor of Architecture, 1998), online game design, book writing / illustration and interactive web design. Today’s technology is a fertile ground for the renewal, or “renaissance,” of thought and approaches in both design and process. It affords those willing to venture into this territory the ability to not only overcome design and business obstacles, but thrive in a difficult world where distinction is paramount.I see success being rooted not in elite thought, but through the combined and integrated approaches we take with our clients to fully realize their creative vision. It allows us to see both challenges and solutions in a different light. This lens I carry to church, to home, to work. It lets us go beyond what is, and into what can be.
