About Ian Lee

An experienced project engineer who has recently made the jump to research engineer within the Bristol Composites Institute at the University of Bristol.I am currently investigating the material properties of highly-aligned discontinuous fibre composite tapes, produced by the patented High Performance Discontinuous Fibre (HiPerDiF) technology developed at the University of Bristol. It is hoped such materials can find use within bio-inspired, hierarchically structured composite materials currently being developed by the Next-Generation Composite (NextCOMP) programme being jointly undertaken with Imperial College London, and aimed at significantly improving composite compressive properties.
