I come from an Electrical trade background, having moved into design/Drafting in the early 90's when Cairns, Far North Queensland still had a thriving mining industry.I have progressed through various roles in Drafting, Design, Maintenance, Commissioning, Supervision, Quality Systems & Project Management. As a Drafting Coordinator I had responsibility for a Multi Disciplined design team & for project management of maintenance & Capital design projects. I carried out additional responsibilities as the Area Authorized Person (clearances), various electrical databases, systems development and improvement.I have also developed substantial skills in establishing & running Incorporated Associations and organizing major community events. I held executive positions in 3 incorporated associations whilst in Nhulunby. My well developed presenting skills have been gained through my live radio work, interviewing & MC duties for major events. My written communication skills have been developed both through my engineering work, popular science writing & creative writing with the writing group Arnhem Writers, founded by myself in 2008. Liaison with key community, government & business leaders has been an integral part of these projects.My Most recent industry experience has seen me undertaking a completions specialist role in the Gas industry as part of the team that bought the Eurombah Creek GPF to practical completion to a high level of quality with historically low rework required. My goal is to build on this experience through project management in Engineering & Construction, build a self sustaining business, independant of my day to day involvement and take on a major community development role in the long term.I have now consolidated this experience and work as an Electrical Teacher at TAFE North.
