Drove high sales growth resulted in being on the Deloitte Fast 50 in Canada and Fast 500 for North America for 2008, 2009 and 2010. The factory became EBITDA positive in its first full quarter of operations with both lines. Developed a very solid independent Board of Directors.Over the last 15 years, developed strong relationships with industry leaders, suppliers, customers, competitors, analysts, consultants, academics and media.Completed over 100 media interviews. Lead the creation of three divisions at ARISE. The Polysilicon Division has developed a unique low cost polysilicon process that will provide 7N+ material at less than $20/kg with a modular ramp up approach that significantly reduces cash required. The PV Cell Division has been focused on developing high performance, high quality PV cells. Ian lead the creation the PV Cell Division by building a ‘State of the Art’ 85MW PV cell factory in Bishofswerda, Germany with a 50M € capital project budget. Secured the equity, government funding for 50% of the CapEx, bank funding for 25% of the CapEx, 10M € working capital credit line plus bridge loans for government grants and VAT. AES was involved in developing PV micro-inverters and commercial PV inverters for grid connected and hybrid application. AES provided PV micro-inverters for the first deployment of BIPV AC modules ever for a 20kW system designed by Solar Design and deployed the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
