Guideline Management Analyst
As a member of the Guideline management team, I expanded beyond the core competencies I learned at State Street Global Advisors, garnering a deep understanding of operational and investment processes within Insight Investment. I apply that knowledge in my daily activities to deliver the best-quality guideline coding, monitoring, drafting and overall execution of my duties and drive value as part of the Operations group. In addition to my day-to-day responsibilities, I also engage in learning the investment side of the business including strategy, analysis and execution. I have also been provided with the opportunity to work in tandem with the credit team to initiate credit coverage for portfolio managers and gain experience across areas of the business outside Operations.
Investment Oversight Analyst
As a member of the Investment Oversight team I diligently analyze compliance rules and violations across multiple systems to ensure optimal investment compliance to benefit both the firm and clients. In addition to daily compliance, I efficiently process client amendments and new funds within several systems and collaborate across many teams to expeditiously create periodic reports for clients and colleagues alike. I am also responsible for leading training sessions with team-members to promote cross training and growth among the team and have taken a role within the Charles River Implementation project at State Street Global Advisors where I test and maintain rules while adhering to aggressive deadlines as the firm undergoes a major transition and consolidation of compliance systems.
Investment Compliance Intern
With the Investment Compliance team at MFS I had the opportunity to collaborate with several departments in a variety of ways to maintain the superior compliance standards in which MFS prides itself. I was responsible for the completion and delivery of daily and weekly reporting tasks in addition to maintaining monthly metrics for the team while researching and aggregating SEC compliance data for securities held in MFS funds. I was also responsible for systematically monitoring, verifying and testing compliance rules as the firm transitioned between compliance systems. In my free time, I was responsible for independently conducting research and developing an intern capstone project that was presented to managers, was met with significant praise, and is being presented to MFS's Sustainability Group headed by chief investment officers as well as the President and head of Global Distribution for the firm.
Project Support Assistant
At the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute, I was a project support assistant for Head Start's Program Management and Fiscal Operations (PMFO). As part of the PMFO team, I collaborated with the Director of the Donahue Institute, Senior Research Managers, and other members of the team to ensure that the highest quality data was reported to Head Start so they can continuously improve the education of today's youth. Specifically, I worked with several members of the team to ensure the timely creation, administration, and monitoring of program evaluations across the country. When these evaluations were finished, I would use Qualtrics and SPSS Statistics to compile the data into event reports for Head Start, Every month I would also compile a cumulative monthly report of the data which the Director would present to Head Start, and note that they received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Cashier
As an employee at Scotty's on the Hill, I was in charge of multiple cash registers, stocking inventory, taking food orders, and customer service while simultaneously ensuring the highest possible degree of accuracy in every transaction and customer interaction. Towards the end of my tenure I was also put in charge of training new employees because of my exceptional performance as part of the company. While managing several thousand dollars every day, I quickly learned to be diligent and meticulous because errors resulted in loss of profit. Aside from learning to be diligent and meticulous, I also strengthened my customer service skills and multitasking skills when dealing with multiple customers at once.
Assistant Swim Coach
With the Amherst Tritons, I found a way to turn my passion for competitive swimming into an experience where I could pass on the knowledge I learned there as a former member of the team. As an assistant coach with the team I primarily worked with swimmers ranging from ages 8-14, but occasionally worked with older swimmers as well. During practices I mainly worked individually with swimmers to help them increase their efficiency in the water through stroke techniques and underwater drills. In addition to my role assisting swimmers, I also assisted the other coaches in facilitation of swim meets and distribution of awards to younger swimmers. From this experience the biggest takeaway was how I improved my communication skills with different platforms whether it be coworkers, parents,or swimmers.
