UBU Environmental Limited manages a fleet of over 80 Roadsweepers, High Pressure Jetters, Precinct Sweepers, Tankers, Gully Suckers and Specialised Motorway & Airside Cleaning Machines (Beam).

Duties /Responsibilities -• Leading and motivating the entire transport team and responsible for looking after 30 vehicles, which run on a 24-hour basis, every day of the year – Communicate with all the sales, transport and workshop managers daily to uphold high standards• Briefing all Supervisors on each job, providing the correct paperwork, method statements, risk assessments and waste disposal documents – Close relationships with all staff to gain the best results for the company and maintain safety whilst on customer sites• Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures – Analysing tachographs, daily defect checks and downloading Drivers cards• Generating new business and retaining good working relations with existing customers – Visit customer sites for audits, tender meetings, providing quotations and talking directly to site managers• Identifying operational issues, potential problems and opportunities – In the transport business problems arise daily, you need to be in contact with everyone at all times, finding solutions quickly and efficiently• Arranging for the inductions and training of all new staff – Induct all the new Drivers and Operatives personally, gain the employees trust immediately, letting them know you are their first point of contact• Ensuring all site and customer objectives are achieved – Generally contact the customer on the day of the job and a week later to make sure they are happy with the team and the service we provide• Appraising staff performance and taking disciplinary measures when required • Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced in conjunction with the relevant time scales – Manage a maintenance schedule which works on a six weekly basis, servicing, MOT's. Have a daily meeting with the workshop manager to discuss and resolve any problems.
