T O Reilly was a independent owned Irish company who had first opened their doors in the 1970s. They catered for all their clients needs including electrical, lighting and telecommunications trades. They supplied cabling, specialist lighting, switch gear, wiring and a multitude of other products and their company had a strong emphasis on customer service . During my time there I was a trade counter assistant servicing the electrical trade but to the general public also. It was a continious learning experience getting to understand and know new products which were coming into the market such as Master LED Lighling, Alarm accessories such as wireless systems, updated emergency and commercial lighting, storage heaters, panel heaters.I dealt with many suppliers such as Dimplex, Thorn Ligthing, Osram, Legrand , ABB swichboards to name a few. I had a variety of jobs to do including:•Dealing with customers on a daily basis.•Recording customer records for orders.•Stock taking and stock display.•Dealing with telephone orders and enquiries from customers and suppliers•Controlling the import and export of goods in shop via company suppliers and other branches.•Dealing with payments.•Was a key holder and opened and closed shop in the absence of the manager.
